January 2008 - A&W Successfully Reorganizes Business Unit Structure

Lisa Marciano, Senior Vice President of Operations, recently announced that Appleby & Wyman Insurance Agency (www.applebywyman.com) has successfully reorganized into a "Business Unit" structure comprised of five business units. The firm's leaders decided to restructure after Appleby & Wyman's internal and external analysis revealed opportunities to further align the company with its insurance company partners in order to more efficiently and effectively serve clients.

The five new business units include: Choice Business (small commercial accounts); Key Partnerships (large commercial accounts); Personal Lines; Bonds; and Benefits. The Choice Business Unit is based in the firm's Main Office in Beverly, while other units are based in branch offices in Dedham and Westford Massachusetts.

In January 2008, Marciano explained the new structure and introduced the key members of each Business Unit's Leader Team to the company's insurance partners. She explained, "This new office and Business Unit configuration enables each Unit to establish its own goals, objectives, policies and procedures unique to its customers' needs. We expect such concentrated departmental efforts can only lead to superior customer service." She continued, "Our improved communication paths will also make it easier for our insurance partners to disseminate information to us - which will ultimately provide our mutual clients with the benefit of streamlined, timely service and support."

September 2007 - The Murphy Agency Merges with A&W

The Murphy Insurance Agency of Beverly has merged with Appleby & Wyman Insurance Agency (www.applebywyman.com), which has offices in Beverly, Dedham and Westford, Mass. This friendly acquisition of The Murphy Agency was official on August 31, 2007, and contributes to Appleby & Wyman's consistent growth as a privately-owned independent agency.
